I am also blind as a bat without them to anything more than about five feet away. Like Barbara - I even wear them to swim!!! But, I never wear them at home because I do NOT need them to read or use the computer I have bifocals for that but who wants to keep their head tipped bacK? ...Don't want to bother with an extra pair for reading because I can see up close just fine.
