If your kitty is so stinky, it might also be the food you are feeding him. My Allen has such a stinky mess... woah! Clear the room stink at times! But we switched to Nutro Natural (A bit expensive but so worth it!) It is made with natural quality ingredients - and no corn. It has made such a difference in the odors coming from the box... amazing. My Sister-in-law thanks me every time I see her for telling her about it. Now she swears by it too!
