How has she adjusted to being kept inside all this time? I pray your MIL keeps her inside now so something like this will never happen again.

I think Violet is adjusting well to being inside. With the cone on and not feeling well, she's probably not thinking about outside.
The true test will come when she's recovered. She'll most likely be a 'door darter' and she has to re-train her parents into being more watchful of the door.
Recovery time can be a good way to retrain a pet. Instead of just one day deciding that: Oh, you can't go out anymore, ever.
