I've created a little monster! If I put food in his bowl and then sit down to eat, he'll come running to get a few bites from me instead of munching on his cat food. I have to keep Mr. Squirtbottle close by when I eat just to get a few seconds worth of peace! Definitely trying to break him of the begging habit, but it may just be too late!
