I listened to an hour long report on NPR re: McDonalds and other fast food restaurants and their contracts with farmers about one year ago. McDonald's was the only fast food (and they credit peta) who has stopped using chicken farmers that are cruel to chickens. Now, they are working on the cows who are unnecisarily touched by electric prods daily just to make them move. Electric prods are used on cows regularly. I applaud Peta for addressing this and the abuse of chickens (jan and other friends of mine stopped eating chicken 20 years ago because of this abuse). I know you all will be mad at me. I don't agree with everything peta does. It's just that no one else does anything and they have helped pave the way for us (I think).
