Hmm, that's weird. Are you free feeding him? Maybe just feeding him once a day (however much he needs, depending on his weight) would stop it - if he figured out that was the only food he was getting all day, he'd have to eat it, and there wouldn't be any more to play with. I think the scatterless dish looks like a good idea. Let us know what happens!
