Overnight guest Odie *pics*
I often take dogs from the shelter to spend a night with me for a much needed break and some socialization. It is a lot of fun for me and I am able to provide the dog some training and manners for when he/she is adopted and goes to a new home. It also allows me to counsel people on the individual dogs better and I can tell them what to expect in a home environment.
During the past 2 weeks, I've had Odie over 3 different times. He's a 10 month old Heeler mix who we saved from the kill shelter. He was VERY timid and scared for his first couple weeks, but he is really coming out of his shell. He is wonderful in my home and sleeps next to me with his head on my pillow. He is really going to make a wonderful companion for a very lucky person.
(Ignore my pink premier collar I had on him, hehe)
