I think the Iditarod is a perverse spectacle and a
great example of turning a basic love of running by
these dogs into a gross moneymaking adventure by
human beings. It belongs in the same league with
Greyhound racing. Both activities should be banned
as cruel & dangerous for the canine participents.
There is a quote attributed to Roger Caras, that says;

" There are only three sins-
causing pain,causing fear,
and causing anguish. The rest is window dressing"
