Another thought would be something I saw on TV in making a flower bed - you put one brick flat and one on it's side behind it to block grass from growing into your flowerbed but you can mow along the flat brick. If you bought some of those stepping stones and buried them along that area on their sides, the dogs hopefully not be able to dig them out. I am not sure what you could do about the jumping!
