Daisy is one year old, and is always looking for food, she gets fed three times a day and she also finishes Gizmo's (my other cat) food. I worm her regularly, she has regular checkups. could it be genetic as I know her mother and her brother are quite big.

Is Daisy *ahem* "fluffy"? My Daisy loves her food too, but it is Jessica (my ex-feral) who is the most insistent about the bowls being filled etc. I put this down to the fact that food wasn't always so easy to come by. She brought up two litters, that we know of, outside and I think this is why food preoccupies her waking hours. However there are people here who have more experience with cats than me, who might have some interesting suggestions.

Daisy usually gets called crazy Daisy, she is a short hair tortoise shell so she blends in well. She has good health thats why I am so concerned about her eating so much. Gizmo my other baby is nine years old she doesn't eat alot maybe I compare them too much.

You say she has regular checkups. Have you mentioned it to the vet at all?

I don't think I would be particularly worried about it in isolation. I know that drinking much more than usual can be an indication of kidney problems, but you only mention eating. If you are concerned, I am sure you could phone your vet and just ask them what they think.

We used to say that our Samantha lived on fresh air, because we almost never saw her eat, whereas the other two ate all they could. I think some cats are just different. We have had our cats for 9 years now and although we occasionaly see Sam eat now, the pattern is not really much different.

I have asked the vets advice, he told me if she is very active,which she is! she probably will burn it off. I hope thats the case. I'll enjoy watching her.

Hopefully there is nothing to worry about then. Keep an eye on her and buy the occasional bag of light food!

Sorry for not replying sooner, but what light pet food can I give her. She loves whiskas. I haven't really looked around.

Well, our cats and very fond of Science Plan which is a dried food, but supermarkets don't sell it as far as I am aware, only vets and pet superstores. Having said that, they are considerably more fond of the ordinary varieties, than the light ones, but I'm afraid my mummy cat could do with loosing a few pounds so we persevere!

I think quite a lot of the dried food brands produce a light version.
