I find this thread amusing because in my house it was my husband who begged for a cat. Here are some of the things he did...
1. enlisted my mother (who nagged me for him)
2. talked to an imaginary cat --- especially at night
3. went to the hair salon with me and then suggested a walk
across the street to the anti-cruelty society

He is now working on number two kitty.
