My Abner does the same thing. I have a kitty rug with place mats down for their food but for some reason Abner just likes to spill his food. Abner also likes to "bury" his food. He will take his paws and cover the dishes over with the kitty rug. I just have to live with it. I clean up "kibble" every day. Cats certainly are funny creatures.
