Ashley, I think that's a completely different cause. You're the only one who's done something like that. I don't believe, corrrect me if i'm wrong, that that's what anyone in this thread is talking about.

Any caring person should understand WHY you changed your signature.

I really dislike seeing the same request in each signature thread, especially if someone gets theirs finished before I do, because it makes me wonder if I should even bother.

Thanx Kay, I just want to make sure that the signature makers understand there are more reasons as to why we change our sigs then we dislike them.

Even if I didn't like the siggy I still think I would use it for two or three weeks. The person put SO much time and effort into it that I would feel guilty not useing it! (This hasn't happened yet, thankfully ALL my siggy's I have fallen greatly in love with)

Yes, some people literally only keep the sig up for a few days, sometimes even less.

There was one time I made a sig for someone, and they never even used it! They said they'd "rotate" it, but never did... oh well..

You know, I've only have the one siggy that Cookiebaker made me, and even then, it took guts for me to ask. I just hate asking for anything, especially something that is so time-consuming. I won't be asking for any others because Max and Speckles are in my avatar and my RB kitties are in my siggy. When either Max or Speckles takes the one-way train to the RB, then I will have it changed. Until then, I love it and it stays.

I can totally understand how some of you talented siggy-makers would be hurt.

I enjoy making signatures. I feel honored to be asked since mine aren't that great compared to the ones that most people make. However, making them takes time. I'm happy to make them for friends, because I know they actually appreciate and use them. I would get annoyed if a siggy I made was only used for a few days (unless there was a good reason, like a new addition, losing a pet, etc.)

I've noticed several people constantly changing/asking for sigs. Some people seem happy to make them tons, but I wouldn't be.

I think your siggy is beautiful! I've tried my hand at siggy making and I've failed. *notice the lack of siggy block* Just wanted to let you know

I've had people NEVER use the siggy's I made for them, and it makes me feel really bad because I work so hard on them to try and make a person happy and give them a good sig, and they don't even regonize it.

    Good points, everyone.

I think I've only "asked" for 2 sigs made (I might be wrong, please don't get offended). & I'm still using them. I had dukedogsmum (oh dear I totally forget her user name, but everyone knows who I'm talking about, everyone know Duke). She made me a lovely sig of RB Max. I just couldn't stand looking at his pics anymore, so I took it off of my sig area. Mind u I still use the sig she made me. Its ALL over Max's RB website. I even changed my websit logo from Max to Axle. His pics just hurt too much still. His fav stuffy ontop of my comp with my black lab stuffies is enough of a daily reminder.

p.s. the 2 sigs I have now, have been there since the beginning of the year.

I agree. IMHO given the amount of creativity, effort and TIME our wonderful artists put into these sigs, we should use them for a reasonable length of time.

I * think* I have changed mine three times in the 16 months I have been here - my original one from Pops only had Ally, and when Connor arrived Pops made me a new one with both cats, then a couple of months ago Kay made me a new one (at my request - hope I didn't offend you Pops!!!)

So even though I used the sig from Pops for AGES I still felt bad when I changed it, as I didn't want to hurt her feelings!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

(Hope this "someone" doesn't take offence to this, I'm not mad and I hope you aren't)
Not to long ago someone made me the most WONDERFUL siggy of Connor, I LOVED it so much but when I found out Breeze was leaving I wanted something to honor the time we had shared together. So I asked her to make me another one and she declined because she was to busy. She also said I just made one for you and I knew I had hurt her feelings and I should have explained more in my first PM. So I told her Breeze was leaving and I wanted one made for her. I then proceded to ask someone else to make me one and hence the siggy I have now.

I didn't change my siggy because I didn't like the one "someone" made for me (infact I think I will put it in again after Breeze is gone) and I didn't put it in because I got tierd of it. I changed it because something important had come up and I felt that it was important for me to make something to honor Breeze and the year she was in my life.

There seems to be alot of Bashing going on on PT latly. (not saying you shouldn't have posted this thread)

I wasn't talking about you Ashley!!! Honestly! When you asked me for the signature this time, and I told you I was too busy, (and I was.....we had guests coming over 3 days in a row, and I had 5 requests I was working on at the time, plus I was busy with my orientations for college, etc.), I had NO IDEA Breeze was leaving!! Of course I understood your reason this time. I know you appreciated the Connor siggy too. There have been many people who asked me for sigs and either didn't use them at all, or changed them the next day. I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone. I may not even remember several of the people who did that because some of them were people I don't know well at all.

What really peeves me is when people make requests to different people at the same time. Then everyone who got a request makes them, and the person only uses one of them. That is unfair........so very unfair, to the people who put all that effort into making something for you.

Julie, if you even changed your signature several weeks after I made it, I wouldn't mind at all. Its when people change it almost immediately that it makes you feel you did all that for nothing.

Yes Logan, you're one of the people I *love* making signatures for and would make you one even without you asking. I know you always appreciate it, and that makes me feel good. I would love to make you one with Bennie in it.......he doesn't deserve to be left out!

Thats good. I don't want you to be upset with me! But I was just useing our situation as an example.

About the asking diffrent people - Recently I posted a thread asking someone to make me my Breeze siggy. I felt SO bad because Kay AND Johanna (ScantyNebula) made me a siggy at the same time, both of equel wonderfulness! I had a hard time choosing so I just did it the order it came in. Since Johanna posted hers first I will have her up for awile and then I will put up Kay's. It was tough, and I do NOT know how ANYONE could EVER ask 2 diffrent people to make then siggy's and then choose!!! I also think this is rude. It's like them saying if you make the best product then I will choose you, if not, O well, there goes 2 hours of your time.

I’ve only had two signatures. The first one I made myself and I know how much time and effort it takes. Since lack of time is an issue I truly appreciated BCBlondie’s kind offer to make me a new one with all my cats. She did a wonderful job and I fully intend on using it for a very long time.

    Thank you so much, BCBlondie!

Thanks to BCBlondie for this great signature!

    A slow news day

When you folks doing the creating, take the time and devotion to make a signature for someone, you are doing it at your own risk. "Just right" is so subjective. I hope who ever has asked you for the signature at least thanks you! Maybe you should start charging.

I personally don't have a signature after sometime ago, getting dragged through the coals for having TOO BIG of a photo. So I solved that problem. No signature! I did ask someone, a while back, to make me a signature, and then I never sent the photos to her. To me, it just isn't that important!

I happen to enjoy looking at the signatures of others and like to see the changes from time to time. I certainly understand how hurt some people are, but I think you should consider your creations just that....YOUR CREATION....and some folks just may not agree with your taste! Artists must deal with that all the time.

Here's to the artists and their creative skills. We love you all....and also are free to like, dislike and adore your work!
