    the gravity of the situation...

    Dog survives 300ft fall

A dog had a miraculous escape after he plummeted 300 feet down steep cliffs - then walked away unhurt.

According to The Sun Max the German Spitz vanished over the clifftop as he chased a blackbird.

Owner James Frew, 64 - who had been walking with his family - spotted Max after leaning over the edge and called coastguards for help. They found him sitting at the foot of Kains Folly near Charmouth, Dorset.

James, of Orpington, Kent, said: "To get him back in my arms was great."

Graham Turner, Station Officer at Lyme Regis Coastguard, said: "If you could see how far he fell you'd be amazed he survived."

Local dog expert Jo Loader said: "Dogs are not aware of the danger they're in when they fall and completely relax."

    That's one lucky dog!!!

When Miksy was a puppy, he fell off the side of our back steps and broke his leg. I'm surprised that dog survived that fall unhurt!

I agree that is one lucky dog and owner.
I can't relate to what the dog expert said about
"Dogs are not aware of the danger.
    I find that so amazing.
If it were me, I would have been freaking
out until I hit the ground.
