Most greyhounds do this; it's called it "roaching," as in cockroach. Seeing Buddy roach is actually one of the reasons that we fell in love with him! He was just a day off the track, and he was walked in a parade to promote greyhound adoption. After the parade, the adoption group went to a tent for a few hours, where the dogs could be shown off. Buddy was tired from the walk, and he just turned onto his back and dozed off! Hundreds of people milling around, and he was sound aspleep on his back! I saw that and said to the adoption group president "That one - we're adopting that one!"
Paula roaches too, but she usually likes to be propped up by something. We've been woken up many times in the middle of the night by her toe nails scraping the wall and she tries to get comfy!
Pup roaches too - she gets very flat when she does it!
Boo can't roach - she tries, but just can't balance there!
