I gave Charlie (cat) a bath just as soon as the weather was warm enough. I used to bathe my first cat, Sydney, and I'm doing the same with Charlie. I have a friend who attacks me every time I mention that Charlie needs a bath. She tells me, "There is no reason to bathe a cat...they don't smell!!" It's true, cats don't smell, but Charlie gets pretty dingy sometimes, and after a bath he looks and smells so nice. Plus, when it's really warm he seems so refreshed after his bath.
I realize that it's not really necessary, but does anyone object to bathing a cat?
