Now she's one big gorgeous Baby! My neighbors have had Great danes since we moved into the neighborhood some 15 years ago. I've seen many come and go, but one of their last adoptees broke my heart. She was a young girl maybe 2 years old, black and white, but she was heartworm positive. She was shipped up from a Southern state, not sure where, but she was undergoing the treatment for heartworms which often involves strichnine (sp). Sandy and Howie found out a few weeks after that their girl was also pregnant. They had no clue, but knowing what the developing pups were being exposed to, they opted for a spay, and lost the mom. Howie is a quadraplegic, and is housebound, and so being the types they are Sandy and Howie went out and adopted two more older danes! Beautiful animals! As is Baby!
