I was way too tired last night to post the tale of the latest little family! Up early for several days to do an insulin shot for a clients kitty. The newest gang I heard about through the grapevine. High priced condo complex on the ocean a few minutes from here. There's an underground parking garage that somehow Sarah the mom cat found her way into, and had four babies. Residents started feeding them all, and they needed to be rescued fast before they ended up outside. I went there yesterday and the whole garage is crumbling, mostly near the ocean end of it. Huge slabs of cement were lifting with gaps between walls, ceilings collapsing etc. Not a good place for kittens at all! One area I looked at had a gap which dropped five feet below ground. If the kittens were younger, it could have been deadly if they squeezed through there. Mama cat was lounging in one of the empty storage bins, and her kittens were in others that had things in them. Sarah was a big help as when I put down food for her she called her kittens. I was able to net the first three quite quickly much to my suprise, but the last one was too leery. I took out my trusty laser toy and he chased it all over the place! I threw a bit of food down, and played with him till he got a whiff of it, and then netted the suprised little boy! Mama was too easy...sweet doll baby. There's a resident of the building who's fallen in love with her, so I may have one placed. The timing was great for these kitties to be discovered. The whole garage is (somehow) going to be repaired Aug. 1st! Wish I had brough the camera with me. Scary place with the cement slabs going every which way!
