I have "won" some pretty good items though. I do best if I use the auto bid and set my maximum - if I sit up and wait - I end up paying too much. Every once in awhile, I hit it lucky and find that the items that "expire" during the day or sellers with low item counts are the best bargains. Folks that are savvy to auctioning always expire at night though I do more BUY IT NOW these days, or use half.com
