ThelmaLu -- So glad to hear that you are okay.

Joining in the prayers from the group. I like the idea of the prayer circle suggested earlier.
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

They are saying the blasts in Afganistan are from internal forces opposed to the Taiban regime. THey are taking advantage of this situation to try to gain power.

This is incredibly devastating and I am sad I am too late for the prayer circle. We watched this all day in school and had a moment of silence before the final bell rang. People were scared, people were crying... it's horrible. I am still in shock. The planes were from Logan airport... I've been there so many times, taken so many planes from there... I just can't beleive it. My heart goes out to everyone's families who have lost or possibly lost a loved one. I can only imagine the horror of what they are going through right now.

I seriously hope this is not the start of a war. All the guys in school who are 18 or older are so afraid they would be drafted. I am also afraid... I don't want a war now. They are too dangerous in these times.

Again, my heart goes out to the grieving... even though we are all in our own states of grieving at this time. People are calling this the second Pearl Harbor, and saying that there may be 20,000 dead. The numbers are sickening. God help us all.

There is not much left for one to say that has not already been said. Those poor people.
Souraya I know how much you must be worried about your family, please know that we will be praying for their safety and also for your husband should he have to go.
Our Country is strong, we will help and care for our injured, mourn and pray for our dead
and we will go on giving rise to hope from the ashes of despair.

I am scared, confused and angry at the same time. My uncle lives only a few blocks form were the NY tradegy happened. It makes me disguisted in being a human that people of my kind ( i think all humans are the same no matter what race, color, or ethnic orgin) could commit such a horrible crime to take thousands or inoccent, hard working peoples lives, and then just parade around on the streets.
Watching the news, trying to figure this out from what im watching, the guy that is behind all of this is in Afganistan, and the surrouding coutries arent at greatest friends with the U.S. and we need their permission to fly over, and get rid of this brainless FOOL. Like i have said about many of people in this world, there is no place on this earth for people like him. How could he call himself a man, takeing children, and mothers, and fathers, sons, and daughters away from their loved ones?
If you ask me he is assinine.
One thing that just came across my mind... were their any pets on thoose planes?? I just had a very bad feeling in my stomache not only thinking about the thousands of people that have lost their lives, and their families, but the animals. But its a good thing that they were doing construction on the side of the pentagon that the plane went into because their werent as many people in that area, they said only 35 people died that were in the Pentagon.... one thing that really pissed me off today beside all of this what happened, is the kids in school were joking around like it isn't a big deal, but really it is. Some kid today was saying "Oh KayAnn, I guess you didn't hear, Nelly died in NY." I told that kid to Shut up So fast. If Nelly had died, I swim across that damn water and kill that man that did this myself with my own bare hands!
