Oh no, not our big lovable Angus!! I'm hoping and praying that he's ok.

This is probably highly unlikely, but the bleeding around his bum area could possibly be a ruptured anal gland...I bathed a dog at work yesterday that had blood around there and a tiny hole. It was from a ruptured anal gland. It seems like older dogs have more trouble with that. The smell from that is an awful nasty smell.
