I'm not quite sure why I'm posting this but I rescued ANOTHER rat from a feeder bin today. He's a little blazed beige boy about four weeks old. I probably shouldn't have, I have too many rats, but one of my boys just died the other day and another one is sick meaning that my remaining boy (Smoke) would have been alone soon. So I needed to get him a friend sometime. I was thinking of neutering Smoke and putting him with my girls but today I fell in love with this feeder boy.
When I opened the lid to the feeder tank the mother and all of her babies ran to the other side out of fear. Who can blame them though?
I picked up the boy and surprisingly he did not leap from my hand and he allowed me to hold him. Now he's at home resting on my shoulder.
When I told the petstore women that I wanted a rat she basically opened the sliding door and said "You get it I'm not touching them" and as well someone in the background was commenting about how discusting rats are. I hate how prejudice some people are about things that they no nothing about! Oh well.
