Yes you should have told me! We were in SLC (mostly at the Gateway) on Monday. The Petco I work at is clear down in Utah County, I live in Pleasant Grove (near Orem/Provo) but I've been to the ones up there before. Next time you're coming this way, let me know.

As far as the Great Salt Lake I don't know all that much but I believe that all of the lake is salty. Antelope Island is kinda near the bottom edge of the lake, so the Causeway to the island doesn't separate the lake. However, I've seen pics where there's a distinct line across the entire lake where part is darker colored. Maybe half is freshwater, that's possible or maybe half just has a higher salt concentration? I guess I should know these things, but I don't...that was only the 2nd time I've been to Antelope Island in my life.

Well, I've never been to Antelope Island, so you're two times ahead of me.

Here's what I found, if you're interested, "Railroad tracks run across the lake; the solid causeway supporting them divides the lake in half. As all three rivers feeding the lake flow into the southern half, the northern half of the lake is now noticeably saltier than the south half."

And this is pretty neat, I had no idea this existed. Have you seen it? Spiral Jetty
