Grrrr....Just grrrr....
I agree with everything that's been said so far. This is getting more and more ridiculous! Isn't there something, as an animal-loving community, that we can do? Something that will start to make people aware that, really, there are no bad dogs - only bad people who make good dogs bad. In the few years I was a groomer, I think I was attacked and bitten by more yorkies, terriers and cocker spaniels than pits, rotties or dobies. And a Great Dane?!? The Gentle Giants of the dog world!? That's just insane! All of this just stems from ignorance and fear. All it takes is one person to implant the idea that all working breeds are dangerous, and suddenly breeds are being discriminated against.
What I find interesting is the facts around any attacks are never looked at. Did the child provoke the dog? Did the minister panic because he saw a rotti and kick it? Dogs are defensive animals, just like we are. They have the same instinct to preserve their own lives, just like we do. If I hit you, you'd hit me back. If you kick a dog, I'd expect it to attack back.
Rotties are working dogs. They were bred to be protective. They were not bred to be mean. It's all due to bad breeding, inbreeding and the *bleep bleep* who throw them in the back yard to their own devices that are to blame. I would hate to think that because I have Arthur and, soon, the little girl, that I could be told I wasn't allowed to live in a certain town. Isn't that an infringement on my rights? Never mind that Arthur is growing up with little dogs, and kittens and is the sweetest dog. Yes, he's protective, but a miserable failure as a guard dog. He'd rather lick you than protect the house... the weenie!![]()
Ugh.. sorry.. I rambled... But this topic always gets to me....

Just grrrr....
