Actually I hate them too, but I also have an evil side of me. I would never, ever listen to or start a rumour about my co-workers, but I will start rumours about myself just to see what they come back as. You'd be amazed how the story gets twisted. 
I actually find it quite comical. People at work don't know me well at all, except my immediate Supervisor whom I've been working with for 16 yrs.
