Lorraine Smith, another curator of mammals who looked at the photo, said it might be a grey fox that has lost much of its fur, possibly because of parasites. But, she stopped short of total certainty.
Um, hello, yeah...right...there is no way that is a gray fox with some of its fur missing. That would make the record books for largest gray fox. That animal is WAYYY to huge to be a purebred gray fox!

Looks like a mix of some kind of small wild cat and gray fox!
