<EEK> Traveler's ALERT >> Minor **DETOUR** effecting some of you...
"Phred's Travel Guide" requires some minor modifications
that will effect Travelers approaching the Findlay Dawg Park
from the South-East or the East...
ATTN: Steno and COLUMBUS area folks; possibly ROBIN ??;
KayAnn (from the Heritage Springs Campground at Vanlue)...
MOST Folks are **NOT** effected by this...
Anyone using InterState I-75 can ignore all of this -
The "Final Approach" from the I-75 Exit at OHIO Route 12
remains unchanged - SAME as last year & this Spring.
Soooo - if you were routed via Ohio Route 23 North or US/OH Route 30...
Onto OH-15; then told to *watch* for "Township Road # 190"...
forget about Twp Rd #190!! It will lead you across a "lil Dinky Bridge"
on Twp Rd 207 that IS Permanently
*CLOSED*!
Let's pick it up on Northbound OHIO-23 (from Columbus where
folks from the East (Route 30) get on OH-23 at "Upper Sandusky"...
Boogey NORTH on OH-23...
.. Stay STRAIGHT as OH-23 EXITS off to the north >
.. Go STRAIGHT and the highway "becomes" OH-15 WEST
.. Continue West on OH-15
. . (in 5.1 miles you PASS the "Vanlue Exit / OH-330")
. . Another 4.8 miles past Vanlue and you
.. EXIT OH-15 at "Mt Blanchard / Findlay / OH-37
.. Turn RIGHT on OH-37 West (towards Findlay)
.. go 1.1 miles and *watch carefully* for the very small "234" sign
. . (the sign is on the LEFT side of the highway)
.. Turn RIGHT on Township Road 234
.. go 1.4 miles north on Twp Rd 234 -
. . (straight through a STOP sign at County Rd 205
. . with a Red Brick Church on the far left corner)
.. Landmarks >>
. . You're *looking* for a lil "Twp Rd 207" sign that's on the left
. . side of 234; at a left-jog in the road to go around a big farm...
. . with tall pine trees "hiding" Twp Rd 207...
. . (after you *miss* 207; just trun around at the big farm)
.. Turn RIGHT onto Twp Rd 207...
. . you'll see the Reservoir (BIG dirt mound with grass)
. . road ONLY turns to left paralleling the Reservoir
. . go half a mile; road ONLY turns Right - following along
. . beside the Reservoir which stays on your right...
. . another 1 mile and Rd 207 STOPS at "County Road 208"
. . (You're "almost" there!)
.. Turn LEFT on Twp Rd 208 and ENTER the Park
. . pass sign "Riverbend Recreation Area"
. . pass "The LODGE" - on your left -
. . a large, new Pavilion (with picnic tables under porch roof)
.. SLOW DOWN; Turn LEFT into parking lot JUST past "The LODGE"
"Our" Pavilion #7 is the First one on the right as you enter the
parking lot. Dawg Park is behind Pavilion #7.
*"LOOK*" for Debbie & Terry's BIG Motor Home in the lot!
---------------------
Suggest you *PRINT* this revision...
MapQuest doesn't "know" the Bridge is CLOSED on
Twp Rd 207 EAST of the Reservoir...
A "NOTE:" about the "lil Road Signs"...
ALL the "lil Road Signs" marking the County and Township Roads ~
BIGIN with the County ("HANCOCK") or Township
("Big Lick", "Marion", and there's others),
NAME... then comes the Raod's NUMBER
...
Soooo - Practice reading JUST the NUMBER on the small signs!
The NUMBERS remain the same,
regardless of which Township or County they're in!
And MapQust doesn't differentiate between "County Highway #"
and "Township Road #" - BOTH kinds of road are just shown in
lil square Boxes...
