I really think they know. I have always thought that our pets know and experience feelings much more than we can imagine. I am always telling mine how much I love them anyway and I know you do too! I am sure Simba has many, many good years ahead of him. Try not to focus on the negative thoughts. They will spoil your happiness in the "now."
