A friend of mine works part time at Target and she's white as white can be, and is completely fluent in Spanish (though doesn't advertise the fact.) She will be working at Target alongside Latino women and listen to their conversations throughout the day. They talk about how much they hate whites, how they can work the system to get everything for free. Its appaling.

My fix??? When I hear someone slamming or being dumb with their comments in Spanish, I lean in and conspiratorially whispaAer, "Es verda (it's the truth), I feel the same way...."

I never knew how entertaining it was to see people's jaws drop.
