This seems to be a common problem in our Retrievers, for sure. I have heard of many Goldens and Labs that have had to have this surgery, although we have been lucky and none of ours have ever needed it (knock on wood).

I hope Euker will be fine, Staci. Helen's "other" family has a Chocolate Lab, Ben, and he had to have this surgery last month. He is doing great. Keeping them quiet, after the surgery, seems to be the hardest thing.
