My Great Pyr had the surgery when she was about 2 yrs. old. She tore the cruciate ligament jumping down three stairs. Also, my niece's dog just had the surgery done on her chocolate lab. There is a long recovery time, but my Pyr did well with it and my niece's dog, Guiness, is doing well, too.
