Sunday, April 18th, is Only a Week Away...

    ATTENSHUN Dawggies -
are your Hoomins *ready* for the
Findlay Bark Park Gathurin on the 18th of April??

PLEASE READ and UNDERSTAND the Following >>>

Last year the Hancock Park District was VERY Understanding
and Forgiving of our not having Dog Park PERMITS for all of
    our dogs when they visited...
Parks basically just "looked the other way" and didn't object to
a "few" dogs "visiting" once or twice.

Although several of us have tried,
    and a Very Cooperative Park Director has also tried;
it is very unlikely that any major changes in the established
Park Rules will be adopted this summer.
The Dog Park Rules are formulated after Public Hearings -
and rule changes will be a Long & Tedious procedure.

What this means is that EVERY DOG that enters the
Bark Park Enclosure MUST Be REGISTERED in advance.

HOW to REGISTER was covered in detail a few posts ago -
    PLEASE!!
Take the Time, Spend the $10, and REGISTER NOW!!

    And Please Understand -
it's not that the Park District doesn't want us
to come into their Park - they think it's GREAT that so many
folks travel to Findlay to enjoy the Dog Park!!

I'd also like to point out that we "out-of-towners" get off pretty "cheap"!
EVERY Homeowner (and probably Business Owners) HAVE to
PAY a Hancock County Park TAX every year!
It costs a Homeowner anywhere form $15 to $100 per year to support
and pay for the operation of the Park District!
And they PAY that Tax whether or not they step foot in a Park!

    **EDIT** to ADD >>
I wasn't very clear with that...
The TAX every Hancock County Resident pays yearly
does NOT include "Dog Park Privelages"!
The TAX is based on a home's "market value" -
    a $ 50,000 home pays ~ $15 Park TAX,
    a $100,000 home pays ~ $25 Park TAX,
    a $150,000 home pays ~ $38 Park TAX;

AND they ALSO PAY an ADDITIONAL $10 to use the Dog Park!

So our having to pay only $10 to use the Dog Park isn't such a bad deal!

We all hope that this doesn't discourage anyone from attending
the Pet Talk Gatherins at Findlay!
The 2-Leggers AND the 4-Leggers ALL have a GREAT TIME!!
    Don't miss out!

And if you're going to Bring a Friend WITH Dogs -
form up a "Family Group" and Register up to 3 or 4 dogs on one permit -
    just don't "tell" anyone!

    Any Questions or Concerns?
Post em or PM to "Cinder & Smoke" ...

There *IS* Time to Register - if you send it in NOW!
As long as the Park Office gets your $10 and the Application WITH
the Dog(s) Vet Records ON or before April 16 (a week from now) -
    there won't be any problems.

Cinder & Smokey want to see you ALL in a week!!

    /s/ Phred

    And a lil PS:
I've had a PM asking if "NO Dog" Visitors
(HOOMINs - who don't bring a K-9 Companion along with them)
    need to be "Registered"?

The Answer is NO - Humans withOUT a Dog -
do NOT need to "Register" to attend the Gatherin!

And if you're gonna Bring da KAT (or a Cone ) -
THEY get in for "free" too!
It's ONLY the K-9 / Dawggies that need to have a Permit!

Hmmmm... wonder if GOATS are allowed in...??
