I prefer lure coursing to greyhound racing. Lure coursing tests the dog's sense of instinct and it's a fun activity dog owners do with their sighthounds (sort of like agility and tracking and whatnot). I don't know too much about greyhound racing, but what I DO know is that a lot of times, dogs that retire are euthanized, so there are a lot of organizations now that try to rescue retired greyhounds and place them in homes. During their race career, they're mostly kept in cages and never really get to experience the outside world or spend their time in anyone's home.
