David, You have a pair of very lucky girls! Nothing makes my blood boil faster than hearing about animal abuse, but the happy ending is what counts most. So glad you adopted adults as opposed to kittens which everyone seems to want. I'm really dreading kitten season, but have to count my blessings that over the last six months I rescued and adopted out so many cats I can't count. A few more, and I'll be more prepared for the kitten onslaught! The big problem shelters have is when there's kittens available they get adopted, and the cats sit there...and then comes summer time and no one seems to get adopted kittens included.
