Female dogs' bodies generally go through a fake pregnancy after they are in heat. Some have it worse than others. Alot won't even have any symptoms. I believe that Tikeya (Tikeyas_mom's dog) was even producing milk when she went through her fake pregnancy. I don't know if it can happen while they are in the middle of their heat though.
