Thread: which is better

    which is better

which is better akc or ckc?

Doesn't really matter. Neither one is proof of health or anything - just proves that your dog's parents were registered purebreds (meaning that your dog is a purebred too). And neither have restrictions on inbreeding or anything either. It's better to look at the quality of the breeder than which organization the pup is registered with.

...so, the CKC papers you got do show that your maltese is purebred, just not a health guarantee or anything.

From everything I've read in other places, AKC tends to have a better reputation than CKC.

Just because your new dog is a purebred doesn't mean you should stud him. 3 million dogs are put to sleep every year in shelters in the US.

And there's lots of work involved, even if you don't own the mom. You have to get him tested for different genetic diseases, there could be complications, ect ect.

I'll have to agree with Wolfie on this one. There are way too many dogs that end up being bounced around from home to home, or end up at the humance society or animal control because someone had a litter of pups and couldn't find GOOD homes for all of them.

Besides the expense issue, your pup will live a healthier life if you get him nutered. And you'll be happier if you take him to the dog park and he's not trying to mount the females or trying to get aggressive with the males.
