Lucinda - your story is really something! I too rescued 2 kittens - at separate times. My youngest girl (turning 1 next week!!) is all black with eyes similar to pickle slices! I thought long and hard for a good name for her. I finally decided on Pekoe - as she was the color of black/brown tea leaves at the time I adopted her. My other kitty was rescued from a bush. I came across a lady who was gathering up her cat's kittens to take them to the pound the next day. I "picked" a little black kitten from the litter, so I named her Daisy. She was like a beautiful wild flower that I picked on the way home from work! That little flower is now 1 and is over 10 pounds and she is such a peach! I think the names of our cats really say a lot about the history of the kitty and their personality in general! Of course, as cat people, we never call our kitties by their "real" name - instead we use any of the 1,000 nicknames we have for them!
