Nipo wears a break-away collar and is microchipped. The collar has a bell and a small tag with our phone number. She hasn't ever been able to figure out how to get her collar off, which is good. I don't feel like she is active enough to be likely to get in a situation where her collar will choke her but if it does happen I hope it will break away like it is supposed to! My greater concern is that one day she may get out of the house (she has been an indoor-outdoor cat in the past) and without a collar people would assume she is a stray and make no effort to take her to the Humane Society or find her guardians. We have a lot of stray and feral cats in Hawaii.

I realize I am taking some risk by having her wear a collar but I still feel I am doing what is best for my situation.
