I'm also extremely lucky with my vet. When I moved in the area I was very wary about changing vets since the practice I used before was also very good. But the vet I have now is at less than 5 minutes walk from me so I decided to try. I'm so pleased I did. He is a very nice and compassionate man who clearly adores animals. When we had to put Gigio to sleep he was wonderful. Prema, also due to the accident she had before I adopted her, has slighly deformed paws and often her nails become ingrown, she becomes a cat possessed if I try to cut them but she stays still when the vet does it, so I tend to take her there and he never charges me for it. He also goes to my sister's house (she lives in the same neighbourhood) for her 3 cats yearly shots since one of hers is so scared at no extra cost.

If a stry is brought in he will either split the costs or if the person can't afford it he is more than willing to bear all the costs.

There is only 1 thing I didn't like... he wanted to keep Foxy the first time I took him there!
