If I had enough money and time, I'd like 5 or 6. But not for quite a while, until I have my doggy daycare/training facility set up and stable.

6 is fine for now but I would LOVE one more! lol, but after I move that will change, my mom and I are moving to an acrage after I graduate, and I am going to breed(and rescue) border collies, I will have my own kennel, my mom though wants to breed as well, preformance dogs, she would be a totally different kennel though, and would not be related to mine in any way. of coarse I have to learn how to care for a flock of sheep before that lol cant breed border collies without livestock! not real BCs anyway lol![]()

Well, certainly less than ten, that's for sure! I love all my dogs, but I will never have this many again. Not like I planned on having this many to begin with, most of them are just rescues that never left, for one reason or another.
Someday, after all these dogs are gone, I will own two dogs. Possibly three, but never more than three again. I never want to have so many dogs again that I cannot move to within the city limits of most cities. The dog pariah, that's me.
Of course, that's a long way down the road.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
For us it's really two. Or three that get along well, lol. I'll never jsut have one dog again. While I think we did ok playing with Chester before we got Millie, we can't play the way those to play together. I'm sad that Chester missed out on that for so long.
I think about 4 would be perfect! I just got to convince my husband of that!
