The container for the soap is a very good idea. It will certainly solve the problem. even if I can't get my husband and daughter in the habbit of putting it in a drawer, I'm sure the cover will discourage Samspon enough to possibly break the habit.
I tried the stern "no" (he is just so stubborn) , but I never thought of backing it up with an alternative. He certainly has plenty of toys I could offer

Just remember that every time your dog seems to be listening to you (if he responds well to the toy, stops searching for the soap, ect) praise him a lot! If you like you could even reward him with a treat but make sure it's obvious that his good behavior is making you proud and happy. A lot of dogs will do anything to make their owner proud and this may just steer him away from these bad habits.
