Tilly:

After my grandmother died, I noticed that Bassett was lonely during the day while I was at school, and the house in general just seemed sad. I started thinking about getting Bassett a playmate, and started calling around to shelters, looking for a young cat (Bassett is the queen, and wouldn't tolerate an adult kitty!)

I came across this sweet calico, then named "Gracie" at Petcetera adoptions. She didn't like to be held, but when she saw me she came up to the cage and stuck her paw out, trying to touch me. She also make all sorts of cutie-pie noises.. and her bright pink nose won me over. I took her home.

I wondered, as we put her in the car, if she would adjust to an indoor life. She had been a stray, and since she didn't like to be held, I was concerned. On the way home, she climbed out of her carrier, into my lap, and turned on the loudest motor I've ever heard. She looked up at me and gave me eye kisses, as if to say "thank you." I knew then, things would be perfect.

At first, she and Bassett were inseperable, but as Bassett's health began to fade, and Nutmeg showed up, Tilly and Bassett no longer get along. They hiss for communication, but lately they have started laying in close proximity again. I still have hope
