Well if she knows anything about genetics she will know that mutations occur quite often, and yes it was a blue patched (with darker patches) guinea pig.............and I said it was a fluke, meaning extremely rare. The reason this was probably brought out was because the lady who bred them does so in mass demand to supply a petshop and inbreeding is done fairly often. However, this hasn't happened again, so it may not ever happen, but yes it was exactly what I said. Maybe they would call it a calico or something else, but I know what I saw lol.Originally posted by cali
umm blue merle guinea pig? my mom said thats not possable, she studied piggie genetics very closly for a long time because of poppy who appeared to have a, lilec patch AND a chocolat patch with is not geneticly possable either. do you have any pictures? No I do not have pics as I saw this piggie at a petshop. He was snatched up ASAP from a lady who wanted the pig as a present for her daughters birthday. If however I see another, it will surely be coming home with me!
