Obviously your animals are allowed on the furniture, probably the bed, too (and I applaud you). For the emotional security of Abbey and her sister, do not change this. Buy a bigger bed or couch if necessary. Explain everything to the animals and the significant other before the event. Since Abbey's been abused, her mental health is so important, and she should not feel abandoned if you change things.
