trayi52 had the right idea about the paper training. I did just that with my B.J. years ago. We covered the whole kitchen floor with paper and as a time when by we just removed some paper till there was only paper at the back door. He always went to the paper. This made it easier on us at the time to finally train him to go outside. I don't train that way in more but it did work great for B.J.

And yes, buy him some chew toys for the bitting and make sure thats the only thing you let him get away with chewing. Don't give him an old sock or shoe for exsample or else he will always think it's ok to chew them. He needs to learn to only chew his toys or you might wake up one morning, like I did to a couch pillow stufffing all over the floor and the tv remote with teeth marks in it.
