I know how difficult it can be having a senior dog, so you certainly have my sympathies.

There’s a disease that older dogs get that’s much like Alzheimers called cognitive dysfunction syndrome. Perhaps Smokey has this syndrome? I know Aneko does. She is starting her meds Saturday.

Aneko has every symptom, but dogs can display one symptom and still be helped by the meds. I’d definitely encourage your mom to ask your vet about trying it for a while just to see if it helps Smokey. You never know.
