Oh my.
Poor dog. Poor, poor dog, to have lived a life like that, and then to almost face a death like that.
I'm certainly glad the dog is alive.
Now ... flame me if you will ... but I have to say this.
Those two men that died were someone's son, someone's brother, someone's grandson. I imagine tonight there are grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, mothers, wives, friends who are grieving, torn up over the horrible way their loved ones died.
I HATE dog fighting. HATE IT!!! Don't get wrong.
But few people are ALL bad. Perhaps one of these men that died was a wonderful husband, a loving father. We don't know. I just hate to see ANYone's death glorified ... well, almost anyone's. There are a few heinous, subhuman monsters that I would be happy to see in the grave.
trayi52, you said your nephew fights dogs and you hate it. But, he is still your nephew, right? Your family still loves him. I like to think that maybe people will see the light someday. I don't know, I guess I'm just imagining what it would be like to be a member of that family tonight.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
