Spelling problems can follow somone around and torment them. Even when someone tries to help, their "jokes" don't help at all. Suggesting not to breed a dog is not the same as "joking" about a chronic problem. My best friend failed english 10 last year because she can't read or spell well, and she would be very hurt by what some might call a "joke" that "isn't meant to hurt."

LOL. I still don't see how telling her "bread is something you bake, no what a dog does" is rude.

Calling my 'joke' (which honestly, wasn't meant to harm anyone or cause you to get a fuss about it) stupid could follow me around and torment me as well. Will it? Probably not. But, It was much more uncalled for than correcting someone's spelling.

So, Is it rude for a teacher to correct a kid's spelling?
