Tubby is the biggest Momma's boy you've ever seen, and Peanut is the apple of her Daddy's eye, so yes, our family follows what you've heard.
However, I think the most important thing to getting one that will bond with your husband, and he with it, is to get him involved in the selection process. If you go to a shelter, take the one that chooses him, not the one that would be your choice. If you make it seem like "his" cat right from the beginning and let him choose who comes to live with you, you are much more likely to be successful in your bid for a second "kid."
