This thread certainly has changed since the first page, when the subject was freedom for women in Afghanistan, and moral outrage over bikinis!

I've always thought Venus de Milo (the statue with no arms) and Michealangelo's David are perfection of human form. I'm not offended by nudity, never could understand the thing in the Bible where Adam and Eve "saw that they were naked and were ashamed."

Back to the Afghanistan story, the thing I find interesting is that there was a 1972 Miss Afghanistan. Part of the reason ultra-conservative Islamists took over the governments in Afghanistan and Iran was public reaction to the westernization of young people there in the late 1960's (miniskirts and rock'n'roll).

Will it be different this time?
